How to install
Every Gravy mod installs the same way, whether you take the whole pack or a single mod: install BepInEx 5 once, then copy the mod's BepInEx folder into the game folder.
What you need
- SimplePlanes 2 0.7.9. Each mod's page lists the game version it works with.
- BepInEx 5, the 5.4.x x64 build, installed in the game folder. Use BepInEx 5, not the BepInEx 6 pre-releases.
- The Gravy Mod Pack zip, or the zip of a single mod.
The mods run on Windows, and on Linux and Steam Deck through Proton.
Windows
- Find the game folder: in Steam, right-click SimplePlanes 2 and choose Manage, then Browse local files.
- Download BepInEx 5.4.x for Windows x64 from its releases page and extract it into the game folder. The
BepInExfolder andwinhttp.dllend up next to the game's.exe. - Start the game once and quit, so BepInEx can set itself up.
- Extract the Gravy Mods zip and copy its
BepInExfolder into the game folder, merging it with the one already there. - Start the game. Each mod creates its settings file in
BepInEx/config/on first launch.
Linux (Proton)
Through Proton the game is the Windows version, so it uses the Windows x64 build of BepInEx too.
- Find the game folder: in Steam, right-click SimplePlanes 2 and choose Manage, then Browse local files.
- Download BepInEx 5.4.x for Windows x64 from its releases page and extract it into the game folder.
In Steam, right-click SimplePlanes 2, choose Properties, and put this in Launch Options:
WINEDLLOVERRIDES="winhttp=n,b" %command%This makes Proton load BepInEx's
winhttp.dllinstead of its own, which is how BepInEx starts.- Start the game once and quit.
- Extract the Gravy Mods zip and copy its
BepInExfolder into the game folder, merging it with the one already there. - Start the game.
Steam Deck
The Deck runs the game through Proton as well, so it's the Linux steps done from Desktop Mode.
- Switch to Desktop Mode (Steam button, Power, Switch to Desktop).
- Open Steam, right-click SimplePlanes 2 and choose Manage, then Browse local files.
- Download BepInEx 5.4.x for Windows x64 from its releases page and extract it into that folder.
Right-click SimplePlanes 2, choose Properties, and put this in Launch Options:
WINEDLLOVERRIDES="winhttp=n,b" %command%- Start the game once and quit.
- Extract the Gravy Mods zip and copy its
BepInExfolder into the game folder, merging it with the one already there. - Go back to Gaming Mode and start the game.
Adding more mods later
Every mod zip has the same layout as the pack: a BepInEx/plugins/<Mod>/ folder. Copy its BepInEx folder into the game folder the same way, merging it with the one already there. To leave a mod out, delete its folder from BepInEx/plugins/. No mod needs another one.
Check it worked
- The game folder's
BepInExfolder has aLogOutput.logfile after the first start. BepInEx/config/has a settings file for each mod.- In a flight, open the game's MENU. The lavender Gravy Mod Menu button sits below Submit Bug Report.
If there's no LogOutput.log, BepInEx isn't loading: see BepInEx doesn't seem to load.
